About Rose

Rose Jenny is a trans writer based in Tennessee. She is the recipient of the 2025 Bennett Nieberg Transpoetic Broadside Prize from Gasher Press, selected by poet Michal ‘MJ’ Jones. Her poetry chapbook, My Apocrypha, is available through Bottlecap Press. Rose’s other selected poems are published/forthcoming in Foglifter Journal, SWWIM Every Day, Oroboro, South Florida Poetry Journal, Stone Canoe, Hole in the Head Review, Santa Fe Writers Project Quarterly, Pensive Journal, new words {press}, Waxing & Waning, Pile Press, and The Dead Mule School of Southern Literature.

As a playwright, she has written, directed, and/or devised work through Marymount Manhattan College, Theatre Plastique at The Bushwick Starr, Shout Alone Theatre Company at the AITI Theater, Sacred Circle Theatre Company at The Alchemical, and the Midwinter Madness Short Play Festival at Roy Arias Studios in New York City.

Her writing has received additional support from Tin House, the Sewanee Writers' Conference, The Barrow Group, the Sackett Street Writers’ Workshop, and the O, Miami Poetry Festival. Rose earned her MFA in Creative Writing from University of Miami, where she was a Michener Fellow and poetry editor for sinking city.

Rose is the Drama Editor for Waxing & Waning, a librarian for the Free Nashville Poetry Library (FNPL), a poetry reader for April Gloaming Publishing, and an English tutor at Nashville State Community College. In January 2026, she ran arts programming as FNPL’s Poet-in-Residence.
